Google Boost

What is Google Boost?

Denver Attorney Google Boost Ad Example

Google Boost is an add on feature of Google Places. If you already have an optimized business listing with Google

(Google Places) you can add a Google Boost ad to help draw in more customers. These Boost ads show up in the Adwords section of the search result page as well as on the Google Places maps.

As shown in the example to the right, you can see the blue pointer signifying this business has a Boost ad. The blue pointer stands out on the map drawing more attentionĀ  and more clicks. The ad listed below the map also has the blue pointer and is in the AdWords area of the page. Both of these pointers are a different color from anything else Google has on their pages providing a great way to stand out from the crowd.

Promoting Local Business

Google Boost ads are another way Google is helping promote local businesses. This is a fairly new product for Google and has already been shown to be effective.

Google Boost ads are another method to advertise your business if your marketing goals are to reach a local audience. Without this local focus, Google Boost may not be for you and your business.

Google Boost is a PPC (Pay per Click) campaign and the cost per click rate varies based on your local competition. I have seen clicks as low as $1 and as high as $3. This is not saying you can’t pay above $3, thats just from my experience, it is determined by Google based on local levels of competition. You can however set a monthly budget so you do have control over your expenses.

This is a great way to promote your business locally, but your first step should be to have an optimized Google Places listing first. Then if you feel you need more visibility, then go with Google Boost.
